Day 1

Today you’re going to recap from the beginning. Of time! Remember what you learned about evolution? I want you to revise that Chapters One and Two, recalling how we got from a gazelle’s ideal nervous system to a human’s interrupted response to threat.

Day 2

Today is all about the consequences of interrupting the natural threat cycle. This is in Chapters Three, Four and Five. Remind yourself of how a nervous system becomes dysregulated and how this messes with so much of what we think of as our health.

Day 3

Today’s re-cap is about behaviour. Understanding this is a vital part of our day-to-day recovery. Re-visit Chapters Six and Seven to remind yourself of how dysregulation starts to show up in everyday life, in the ways that we behave, and how that affects our relationships.

Day 4

Today we look at love, particularly our first attempts at loving the people who raised us, what we learned from them about love, and our own attempts to find loving relationships in life. This is in Chapters Eight and Nine.

Day 5

On the last day of Week One, we bring it all together. Today, I’m asking you to look at the more complicated effects of dysregulation on personality and character, and how this has affected our whole world. This is all in Chapter Ten.
